Summer Spectacular returns to Woodside Park this August

Lymington and Pennington Town Council is delighted to invite residents and visitors to this year’s Summer Spectacular, taking place at Woodside Park on Sunday 2 August 2026, from 11am to 5pm.

Formerly known as Picnic in the Park, the Summer Spectacular is a free community event for all ages, with free parking also available on the day. The event will bring together entertainment, local groups, food and drink, sport, family activities and live displays in one of the town’s most popular open spaces.

A highlight of this year’s programme will be the Knights of Royal England, who will bring medieval jousting, horsemanship and pageantry to the main arena. Liberty’s falconry team will also be attending, with flying displays and the chance to see birds of prey up close.

There will be plenty for families to enjoy throughout the day, including ferret racing, a fun dog show, sports day races, a fun fair, live music, a large car show, and the return of the Skate Jam, with scooters, skateboards and BMX riders invited to take part.

Visitors will also be able to browse an Arts and Crafts Village curated by The Little Craft Shack, showcasing independent artists and makers from across Hampshire, Dorset and the South Coast. Local charities and community organisations will be attending, with stalls, activities and information about the services they provide.

Food and drink will be available throughout the event, including bratwurst, tacos, crêpes, ice cream, bubble tea and mobile bars. Visitors are welcome to bring picnic blankets and chairs, find a spot in the park, and enjoy the day.

Local emergency services are also expected to attend, subject to operational requirements, offering advice, demonstrations and the chance to meet the teams.
