Operation Sirius – appeal after man seriously injured in Lymington collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious head injuries in a collision in Lymington.

The 64-year-old from Lymington was crossing Southampton Road opposite Paddock Gardens at 6.30pm yesterday, when he was involved in a collision with a blue Peugeot 306 heading north.

He was attended to by an off-duty doctor at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

This morning (Firday 15th January), he remains in intensive care.

The drive of the Peugeot, a 25-year-old Lymington woman, was uninjured.

Southampton Road was closed for around four hours to allow for an investigation and recovery of the scene.

Police spoke to several witnesses at the scene but would like to hear from anyone else who saw the collision or the vehicle or pedestrian prior to it.
